How do you adopt a child in BC?
A child may be adopted within BC through the director of adoption in the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development, an adoption agency, direct placement of a child by the birth parent to a non-relative, or adoption by a relative or stepparent. There are special considerations when adopting an Aboriginal child from BC. A child may also be adopted from another country.
