How do you adopt a child in BC?
A child may be adopted within BC through the director of adoption in the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development, an adoption agency, direct placement of a child by the birth parent to a non-relative, or adoption by a relative or stepparent. There are special considerations when adopting an Aboriginal child from BC. A child may also be adopted from another country.
How can Suleman Family Law help with your adoption?
Suleman Family Law would be glad to assist you with relative adoption and stepparent adoption.
We will guide you through the necessary legal steps and preparation of documents to complete the process. Relative adoption may involve a family member adopting a child that is related to them, for example, an uncle or aunt adopting their niece or nephew. There may also be circumstances where a child is being adopted by their stepparent.
Suleman Family Law has experience in assisting adoptive parents in a variety of situations. We look forward to helping you navigate the process in a timely and cost effective manner so you can focus on your new family.
